A Stevenson Screen is essentially a shelter for meteorological instruments. This project was a commission for two Stevenson Screens by a small academic lab, with the requrement that they cost less than half the retail value of commercial models. The aim was acheived by designing the screen from scratch and utilising the lab's idle laser cutting machine. The main requirements are protection from direct and reflected solar radiation, rainfall, over heating  and strong winds. These were mainly achieved through a double-walled shell, minimization of contact points between components and non-reflective paint finishes.

Private commission for: Keio University's EcoGIS Oba Lab
